Volunteer Opportunities

There are lots of ways that you can help the dogs, cats and your community by being a Save a Stray Volunteer.  We'd love to help you find just the right way to help to match your available time, energy and talents. 

You can fill out a form to be a Save a Stray volunteer, and a Save a Stray volunteer will be in contact with you.

  • Administrative, secretarial duties.  
  • Adoption Events
  • Bottle feed puppies or kittens  
  • Clean cat kennels at PetSmart on Schillingers
  • Colony Feeder
  • Community Service Hours for students 
  • Data Entry  
  • Educational Display
  • Foster
  • Fundraising - bake sale, car wash, online and more  
  • Grant writing
  • Social Media Marketing - Nextdoor, Instagram, Facebook, etc.  
  • Photograph adoptable cats/kittens
  • Runner - drive kitty or meds to/from vet or foster home. 
  • Sales & Marketing - find homes for cats  
  • TNR - help trap-neuter-return feral cats *
  • Transport (local) drive a cat to/from vet, etc.
  • Using spreadsheets
  • Website design/maintenance
* TNR is Trap-Neuter-Return - Our community contains many feral cats, cats who live outdoors and are not tame enough to be house cats. Many times they are fed by citizens. These cats reproduce repeatedly, producing large numbers of unwanted kittens who quickly start reproducing over and over.
