Nipper (10/18) Nipper (now Hank) is doing very well. He and Lola (another dog I rescued through HH last February) are best friends. They have a backyard to run around together and tire each other out in. Other than that, he blended right in with Lola and I. Goes on walks with us, does training with her. Best idea I ever had was getting her a friend. He’s super protective of his treats, but Lola knows not to mess with him. They’re great together. Best friends I would say. Both are pictured, Hank (Nipper) is on the left, Lola on right, begging for food per usual.
Norman (2/18) Norman now called Bentley is doing great! He has been taking puppy classes and settled into his life great. He loves to play outside and has made so many friends in the neighborhood. He also loves to come to school with me at Le Moyne.
Nelson (3/18) Things are going well for our family with Ginger (formerly Nelson). She loves going on nightly walks and loves our two year old son. We are so happy to have adopted her from you guys so thank you for everything!
Nona (5/18) We adopted Nona at the end of May and she is already a starring member of our family. We have renamed her Salad (aka Sally). I'm including a few pics of her. She loves chasing balls or apples that fall off our tree. Sometimes she flings around a toy for herself then runs to go grab it and runs around in circles, parading with it in her mouth having a grand ole time. It's so much fun to watch her play around and see her speed and agility. She also loves hiking in the woods with us and chasing squirrels and chipmunks while always staying close. She has been really good when we go to work - she has access to a screened in porch and she loves to lay out there and keep watch over the back yard. She has been gentle and loving with our preschooler and everyone in our household. We are thrilled that she seems to have worked through her issues with destructive chewing. We think this is a good indication that, at least in some ways, her anxiety is lower. The only issue we are currently working on is that she seems to have developed a fear of strangers. She does not display any aggression, just timidness and a flight response. It's really surprising and a bit heartbreaking that she has so much fear. Especially since she seemed so friendly with us when we first got her. But we found a great trainer who is going to work with us to build her confidence over time.
