Fluffer Nutter (8/18) Bentley (formerly Fluffer Nutter) has adjusted really well and we could not love him more. He loves adventures but mostly loves to snuggle on the couch. He has even had a play date with one of his litter mates, who was also adopted from helping hounds. I have attached some pictures. I have also switched his microchip registration.
Fern Things are going great with Fern! She has quickly became apart of our everyday activities. The pictures include her helping us pick pumpkins and our Christmas tree, going for walks in the woods, helping me run, and going on climbing trips.
Frannie (1/19) We adopted "Frannie", now called Opal, in January. She is fitting in beautifully with our family, and recovering nicely from a hip injury that her Alabama rescue generously paid to surgically repair when they saved her from the pound. We can surely see why this lucky duck was chosen to sponsor, foster, and ship up North. She is adorable, clownish, and well behaved, with soulful puppy eyes and a penchant for flopping onto her back to receive belly rubs from any human she meets. Children fall in love with her wherever she goes, and she reflects their adoration right back. Our own little boys often say "Mommy, Opal is distracting us with her cuteness," and it's an understandable excuse. Even her new doggie brother, who's 12 and pretty selective about other canines, is finding that Opal adds a bit more fun to our household. Aurora, the cat, may not agree with this claim, but at least has gained a new subject for her empire. Thank you, Helping Hounds, for giving pups like Opal a chance, and formulating an adoption process that allows families like ours (with kids, an existing dog, and a cat) to be matched with just the right personality. We are truly grateful for every volunteer, foster, and staff member that does the difficult work behind the scenes to save adoptable animals and bring joy to the families that welcome them home.
Fredrika (11/18) Everything with Milo (formerly Talon) and Macy (formerly Fredrika) is awesome!! The two of them love playing in the back yard and do not like to be apart from each other. In fact it is not uncommon for them to try and be in the same crate together (even though they are single dog crates). They have gone on a couple short day hikes with us and really enjoyed it. In under three weeks it will be the start of our camping season and we are really looking forward to taking them all across New York State exploring new and exciting places together. Milo has been diagnosed with a Zinc deficiency that causes skin irritation/rash but the vet has him on a daily dose of Zinc supplementation and everything is going good, he is just about back to normal and as long as he continues to receive zinc daily there should be no chance of it returning. We are so thankful these dogs have com into our lives and cant wait t see what the future holds in store for all of us. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
