Dachshund / Mixed : : Female Learn more about the Dachshund.
Sugar was part of a litter of five puppies Save a Stray was asked for help with. Her four siblings were transferred to our sister rescue and are all living the good life in upstate NY. But, unfortunately, due to her shy and timid personality, Sugar wasn't able to go with her brothers. Sugar is doing great in her foster home and is learning trust and comfort with new people every day. She will need a family that will be patient while helping her adjust. And once she adjusts, she will be excited to see you when you come home and then ready to relax with you on the couch. Sugar rides well in the car and loves outings. She has been on many adventures with her foster family including camping trips. She has learned 'sit' and will 'stand' on her back legs for a treat. Sugar's foster family invites you to visit her in her current home to see how she interacts and will continue to work with you until a comfortable transition is made. Due to her shy and timid personality, Sugar will be better in a home with older children. If you feel like you are patient enough and can provide Sugar with the home and family she will thrive in, please read info below regarding adopting. Save a Stray pets are in foster homes.
